Beast TV: Tina Brown's Video Mix of the Conventional and Edgy

From aroutine talk-show format to a highly stylized series of op-ed videos, Beast TV, the 10-month-old video operations of The Daily Beast, seeks to present "smart" video which amplifies the content and authority of the staff, says Katherine O'Hearn, VP, Video & Events, in this inteview with Beet.TV on the Beast TV set. The offering includes a daily live talk show, live coverage of special events including the recent political conventions, news reports, third-party videos and a series of highly original video "op-eds" by Daily Beast and Newsweek contributors and staffers. The series called "Vid Op" was concieved by multi-media artist Joe Posner. Veteran TV news producer O'Hearn joined The Daily Beast/Newsweek in December. Andy Plesser
