The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, the organization that oversees the Internet's domain name system, has appointed a new CEO: Fadi Chehad. A former IBM executive who quarterbacked the company's collaboration with Hewlett-Packard on RosettaNet, Chehad is known for his diplomatic skills. What he's not well known for is crafting Internet policy. Presumably outgoing ICANN CEO Rod Beckstrom will bring him up to speed before he leaves on July 1. Chehad officially steps into his new role in October.
