Houston police are warning those planning to celebrate �the Fourth of July with a bang to hold their fire during the holiday. Crime Stoppers warned Monday that incidents of “celebratory gunfire” spike during Fourth of July, New Year’s and Christmas celebrating. Intentionally shooting off a gun carries a penalty of up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine. �It is also possible for a shooter to be charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony, which is punishable by a $10,000 fine and two to 10 years in prison. “What goes up must come down,” said Katherine Cabaniss, Crime Stoppers executive director. “Don’t shoot guns in celebration this holiday.
